Résumé

L’étude a pour objectif de démontrer que la sécurité nucléaire en matière de « sureté », renforce d’avantage la protection de l’environnement marin. Cette prise de conscience internationale, intervient dans un contexte ou la course vers la prolifération, essai et l’utilisation du nucléaire dans un temps de paix, pourrait éventuellement menacer l’environnement, et en particulier, l’environnement marin de part son importance en tant que source de vie. C’est pourquoi, les Etats ont la responsabilité d’appliqués correctement des normes de “suretés” les plus efficaces afin de protéger l’environnement marin, et, de prévoir un régime international d’où la responsabilité des Etats s’engagent en matière de dommages causés par un éventuel accident nucléaire, qui pourrait détruire non seulement l’environnement marin, mais également, l’humanité tout entière.

Nuclear security and protection of the marine environment in peacetime

Abstract

The study aims to demonstrate that nuclear safety in terms of “safety” further enhances the protection of the marine environment. This international awareness comes in a context where the race towards the proliferation, testing and use of nuclear power in peacetime could potentially threaten the environment and in particular the marine environment because of its importance as a source of life. This is why States have the responsibility of correctly applying the most effective safety standards in order to protect the marine environment and to provide for an international regime in which States are responsible for damage caused by an accident possible nuclear accident which could destroy not only the marine environment but also all of humanity.
