Abstract:

The straits are the most important routes through which maritime navigation passes, and their importance comes as a result of the passage of tankers, especially oil and commercial, which provides high economic returns, and to achieve that benefit, which contributes directly to the economic returns of states must achieve security stability in this strait, both for riparian countries and The Arab Gulf states on that strait or the countries whose ships and carriers pass through it, such as the United States, Britain, Japan, China and the European Union.

All international conventions have guaranteed freedom of navigation in all straits in the world, including the Strait of Hormuz, and that any breach or impediment to security in the Strait would threaten the security of maritime navigation, which is an act of aggression aimed at the economic interests of all countries through which its carriers pass. Because the crisis of targeting tankers in the Strait coincided with the crisis between Washington and Tehran has become another dimension of the subject, a politician affected by the result of escalation between the two countries against the backdrop of the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal.
